Welcome to Tourism 11/12

 

 

This year in Tourism we will be learning many exciting things.  We will be completing assignments, and projects on a number of topics including:  marketing, trip planning, transportation and careers.  Grade 11/12′s will get the opportunity to work independently and have input on the content in their program this year.  We will be using many formats to learn new things including individual and group projects, assignments, and tests.  Please note that there will be a fee associated with any certificate courses offered.

• v Local Tourism in Agassiz/Harrison
• v B.C. Tourism regions
• v Trip Planning
• v Industry Certificates (Superhost etc)

Classroom Expectations	Consequences
v The REAL Matrix (p7 planner) and AESS Code of Conduct (p5 planner) apply at all times	Written assignment to reinforce understanding of the Matrix and Code of Conduct
v You will arrive on time	a)Less than 5 mins. – make up time after class. b)More than 5 mins. – sign in at office (3 times = ½ hr. detention)
v You will arrive prepared (pen, paper, text, current assignment, etc.)	Written assignment about being prepared
v You will complete and hand in assignments on time	Loss of marks (10%/class).  Late assignments will not be accepted after 1 week.

 

Tourism 11/12 will be evaluated as follows:

Letter grades will be assigned as follows:

 

A       86%-100%                      C        60-66%

B        73-85%                          C-      50-59%

C+      67-72%                          F        0-49%
